Chili Information and Tips for a Great bowl of "Texas Red"

Serving Suggestion
2-3 servings per pound of meat

Description: Texas Red Chili. TexasCook Style and it is real
good. Chili is spicy by nature and ours is too, but though
we add the chili spices we add no intentional extra heat
spice. Flavor and gusto, you bet. Just add the amount of
chili blend required to make the flavor you desire.
The picture on the left is just a serving suggestion and
the way we like it. Excellent with cornbread as well.

If you like and have a can on hand, feel free to add
some beans. We like it that way too. Be sure to save
the leftovers (if you have any) for chili dogs.

We suggest you follow the directions below and start
with 2 Tbsp of chili blend per pound of meat, simmer at
least 30 minutes, then add a tsp at a time until desired
flavor is achieved. Simmering a few minutes between
spice tastings. Add salt as desired. We add very little
salt in the blend. Remember it's yours, fix it the way
you like. Just enjoy it and be happy.

1. Brown (gray) some ground beef or chili grind.
(chili grind is simply beef very coarsely ground)

2 . Add water to just cover the meat and simmer for
a bit to make the meat eatin' tender.

3. Add Chili Blend and let simmer for a few minutes

4. Add 8oz of tomato sauce per pound of meat
let simmer for 30 minutes or more. Add water if
necessary or thicken as desired. Chili should be
fairly thick as stew rather than soup.
