1- 3 oz box blackberry Jello (this flavor has been discontinued, use any berry flavor. I prefer strawberry flavor) 1 cup blackberry wine (Manischewitz blackberry) |

| Glaze 1/2 Cup Wine 1 Cup Powdered Sugar Punch holes in cake while hot and in the pan. Pour glaze mixture over cake. Let set for 10-15 min. before turning out cake. I got this recipe from Aunt Ima June Newton. It is a big hit at school. Everyone is always asking her to make them one of these. |
Meringue 3 Eggs 1 TBS. Water 1/8 tsp. Salt 1/4 tsp. Cream of Tarter 6 TBS. Sugar 3/4 tsp. Vanilla Beat the 1st 4 ingredients until stiff peaks are formed. Then 1 TBS. At a time sprinkle the sugar into the mixture while still beating. Then add the Vanilla. Add to pie edges to the center to make sure the meringue is sealed on the pie (to avoid shrinking during baking) Bake in 300-degree oven for 15 to 20 min. until lightly brown. |
