Sherman Softball News Letter 2/3/12

Each week I will try and send out a softball letter so everyone can stay updated on our program and what is going on that week. Here is a run down of our game last week. The girls had a good scrimmage against The Colony at Old Settlers Tuesday evening. I was very pleased with our pitching, catching and our hitting was very good for the first scrimmage. The team went 7 for 17 at the plate! Nice job LadyCats! On Feb. 4th, 2012 we will have a 3 way scrimmage at our place and the scrimmage times are as follow: Each scrimmage will be 1 hour and 15 minutes drop dead. Frisco Heritage vs Celina @ 10:00 am. Frisco Heritage vs Sherman @ 11:30 am Celina vs Sherman @ 1:00 pm Site: Old Settlers Park 1609 North Harrison Sherman, Texas 75090 Next Weeks Schedule: Monday Feb. 6th, 2012 we travel to take on Princeton and the JV will play at 5:00 and the Varsity will play at 6:30 pm. Saturday Feb. 11th, 2012 We will be holding a scrimmage at our place again and the scrimmage time is as follow: Each scrimmage will be 1 hour and 15 minutes drop dead. Keeping the dressing rooms picked up!! (Fair Warning)

FAIR WARNING 1/18/2012 Anything left anywhere in the dressing room other than in or on top of the lockers in the dressing room will be picked up and kept in my office for that week and if not claimed within that week will be thrown in the trash! Fridays will be Trash Day!!! You will run 2 laps around the track or 4 foul poles at the field for every item that you claim! Again If not claimed within that week the items will be thrown away on Friday!!!! All of you have lockers with locks and you are expected to keep all items in your locker and locked up! Catcher bags because they are so big will be kept on top of the lockers! Winners keep their house in order Losers expect other to pickup and cleanup after them! Coach Zachary

Lady Cats, the season is about 2 and a half weeks away ready or not!! I cannot wait to get on the field as I am sure you are ready also. Monday thur Friday at the high school practice field JV and Varsity from 3:30 to 5:15 pm. starting Jan. 20th and on the first 2 Saturday's from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the high school batting cages (Outside)10:45 am go to Old Settlers Park (Varsity Only) Coach Zachary

Josh Hamilton (Putting on Free Hitting Clinic)

If Any of my softball players could go to this it would be GREAT and its FREE!!! Hamilton Putting on Free Hitting Clinic "Just weeks removed from having surgery for a sports hernia, Josh Hamilton is putting on a hitting exhibition in Garland on Tuesday in conjunction with the MLB Winter Meetings coming to DFW next week. Harold Reynolds, former Seattle Mariner and current lead analyst on MLB Network, is putting on the event that will be a hitting exhibition put on by the former AL MVP. Reynolds was on the Norm Hitzges Show on KTCK-1310 AM this morning talking about Hamilton's willingness to take part in the event despite the fact he just had surgery and just started running again. Reynolds said he called to see if Hamilton wanted to cancel and the answer was a quick "no way". There's also going to be a series of speakers at the event, highlighted by MLB Network's Peter Gammons, big-league scout Dave Roberts and former Rangers manager and current Baltimore Orioles skipper Buck Showalter. The event is free of charge and open to anyone over the age of 5, and will be held at the Garland Special Events Center from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday." Coach Zachary

Missing Pie Items Will Be in at 2:00 pm tomorrow in the front Office

Pie's will be here this Saturday at 9:30 am and distributed at 10:00 am

Pies will be here this Saturday at 9:30 am and distributed from 10:00 am till 11:00 am in the high school cafeteria. All players have been given a copy of their pie order forms with phone numbers and they have been told to call the people that bought pies from them and let them know this information unless the player is planning on delivering them. Everyone will need to use the north doors to get in. If the people you sold pies to are not going to be here to pick up their pies you need to be here and pick them up.
