Yeast Dough
Used for hot rolls and cinnamon rolls

3/4 cup shortening
2 cups hot water
Soften shortening in
hot water bring back
to lukewarm.
1 cup lukewarm water
2 cups flour (to start with)
3 pkgs dry yeast

Sprinkle yeast over
water to which 1/2 t.
sugar has been added
3/4 cups sugar
1/4 c.instant potato
1-1/2 tsp salt
2.tsp baking powder
2 slightly beaten eggs

Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl. Add
shortening and water to flour mixture until smooth
then add eggs, again blend until smooth. Add yeast
mixture, which has started to work. Beat until smooth
Add small amounts of flour until you have a soft
dough (6-8 cups) Turn out on floured board and
knead smooth and elastic. Grease sides of bowl and
top of dough. Let rise until doubled in size.
Make into rolls and let rise again (double) Bake at
375 degrees until golden brown (15-20 minutes)
or go to cinnamon rolls.
